India Celebrates its 55th Republic day today. It is an holiday today for all over India to join the celebrations. It was this day on 1950 that the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state, a totally republican nation. The country finally realized the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and the numerous freedom fighters who, fought for and sacrificed their lives for Independence of the nation. This auspicious day was decreed a national holiday and has been recognized and celebrated as the Republic Day of India, since then.
