Kannathil Muthamittal -- A learning for the nations

Kannathil Muthamittal -- A learning for the nations

I seldom watch movies and yesterday being Sunday just was flipping the channels and landed up in KTV and it was screening the film Kannathil Muthamittal. It seemed to be a good story and the remote landed up in its resting position while I watched the movie.

The movie had the essence to move the hearts of even the most stone-flavored since it carries the sentiments of lot of people.

  • A kid away from her homeland
  • A kid away away from her mother right from the birth for no fault of hers.
  • Hundreds and thousands of innocent public who are subjected to innumerable cruelty at the hands of terror strikers and terrorists.

What does these terror strikers gain by using pistols and rifles? Are you trying to showcase thier bravery? It was our Father of our Nation (Mahatma Gandhi) who showed us the more promising and powerful weapon called Ahimsa (Non-Violence) which shooed shooed the foriegners from the Indian soil.

Even the movie screen sets of the people running over on announcement of army advancing into the village to fight the terrorists makes us feel a cold wave travelling down the spine and we should understand how night marish it would be for people spending thier lives right there in the epicenter. The cruelty of terrorists is picturized at its peak during the climax of the movie when the blooming and blossoming park becomes the war field.

I really wonder what the governments are doing all about these terrorists? Rather than fighting between themselves in futile political vendetta, if they are concerned about thier nations, they should swear to fight and eradicate terrorism. It is not that it is impossible. It is simply because of the attitude of the politicians of the current day. What we need is dedicated nation builders and protectors like Winston Churchill ('V for Victory') and William Bentinck (who could abolish Sati and Thug system).

@Hari,

True. There are not much of songs or duet scenes. And the essence of the film is

'High Impact Story. Delivered'.

just like Accenture's slogan 'High Performance. Delivered'.

You should have watched it on Theatre without the troubling advertisements in-between. You can't come out without tears :)

@Srini,

True. But the problem is that I have the tendency of giving more preference to the comfort and luxury of having my own 'personal home theater' system rather than going to the cinema hall.

Moreover, by the time, I decide on the cinema and its quality, it would have been passed through a significant amount of time that I get it over the cable channel itself.

In a way, I feel it is better too --

(*) Avoid the crowd.
(*) Avoid peak high movie tickets
(*) Avoid contracting infections from unhygenic cinema halls.

in the above para u have written Mahatma Gandhi within brackets ... implies that many would have forgot that he is the father of our nation... this is how our country is at present... being in such a situation we cant expect Ahimsa (Non-Violence) in this world... lets see how things go
