As a token gesture, the initial album that was uploaded was very recent one -- Chennai CodeProject (CPians) Meet. Just wanted to update all about the new album website and a new Album too.

I admit that this album also forms part of 'Evergreen Memories' collection.

Bridal Tragedy -- A Shock To our Rich Culture

Bridal Tragedy -- A Shock To our Rich Culture

Wedding is a very holy religious function where two people unite for a newer life. The holy function starts with the bride and groom being arranged for a first level 'Get-To-Know-Each-Other' meet. Today while reading through a matrimonial advertisement, I recalled about an incident of bride-meet earlier. It is also evident that bridal families now feel more arrogant equipped by 'Women Security' acts of the Governement of India, which they try to bend and amend for thier comforts, whims and fancies. It happened about six months back when we have to meet the girl at her residence in West Mambalam. Even the first meet, the girl arrogantly didn't turn up. With great magnanimity, we forgave her. She had her cousin to work with one of the person in about the same vicinity of my workplace. So she wanted him to call me first and know about. Well! I appreciated her gesture through him also as her messenger. This was my second gesture of magnanimity. Third time, she had to meet with the parents. With all horoscopes in place matching, the girl seem to have nod her head in affirmation of her interest. But even then we advised that she should think of her interest for a couple of days. But she was adamant and replied she is perfectly accepting. But two days later, I got a blunt call from her father to indicate about some weird reasons. Guess what -- (*) Status problem -- She has a three brothers it seems and also works as Project Leader.

They were thinking that I would get depressed by this. I replied in just one calm tone -- "Good luck for your daughter. But ensure that she does not continue this foul play ever and ever lest she should be forced signing a divorce the next day of her marriage with such an amount of mental disturbances running amuck in her."

When will people learn that they need to be honest at least in life-decisions? Shame on them.

An initiative to temple help by Varalakshmi

An initiative to temple help by Varalakshmi

Sometime a month back Varalakshmi was discussing with me in her humble efforts of helping a small village temple near her hometown. I infact suggested her that she can also publicize in her weblog but either due to time constraints or other reasons, she couldn't do it. I just told her that I would try sharing about the temple too with other interested persons. The time constraints applied on me too and it took a while for me to share the same too.

The temple is actually located in 'Thirukkuvalai' district and the Lordess name is 'Sri Seethalaparameswari Tulasi Amman' temple and it is located in a village called Mutharasapuram.

Should you wish to join the efforts of helping the small historical village temple, click on 'Varalakshmi's weblog' link and check out with her.

Happy Birthday to Santosh Kumar Sinha

Happy Birthday to Santosh Kumar Sinha

It had been an year since Santosh left Chennai on a lookout for some good greener pastures in Bangalore. I think this year's Birthday also coincides with his 'Wedding Anniversary'. Let us join together to wish him 'Many Many Happy Returns of the Day', as he celebrates his birthday on September 16, 2007.

To quickly recap a few memories with Santosh:

  1. His advent into my previous organization C. S. Software Solutions sometime in July 2002, when a new project was being started.
  2. An interesting journey experience at Munnar Team Building Trip.
  3. A lot of interesting incidents like
    1. QueryExpress Resume Posts to avoid political interferences at the previous organization.
  4. My brief journey to Bangalore and Back coinciding with his brief journey to Sri Lanka and back.
  5. A bit of hot pepper troubles between us because of evil eyes on our good old friendship, in the form of a girl from the wrecked previous organizations. It was a girl lust who broke down Sri Lanka and the mighty Ravana and so was brief troubles erupting between us in the form of a girl. With the grace of Lord, we crossed this shady tides back.
  6. Around July 2006: Santosh invites me for his wedding at Pune with Priyanka Singh.
  7. Around August 2006: Santosh tells me in confidence that he is leaving to Bangalore on a better opportunity.
  8. Around September 2006: Tearful farewell between friends at Chennai Central Railway station leaving behind only mobile and email communications.

Well! That brings a reel of old memories flowing down the mind in just a jiffy. With all things aside, let us join together to wish him "Many Many Happy Returns Of The Day" and "Advanced Wedding Anniversary Greetings".

Letter Writing Competition from Indian Postal Department

Letter Writing Competition from Indian Postal Department

With the advent of emails and handy mobile phones, the conventional and traditional postal means, for sure, is feeling a dwindle. To reinstate the vigor and inculcate good letter writing skills amongst school students, Indian Postal Department is organizing a letter writing competition. I have seen this news sometime about a weekback in Dinamalar but now could not locate it. The India Posts website too does not have a mention about it. However, as I recall, the contest can be participated by school students, duly authorized by the school heads.

You can check out Chennai Online News Post on this topic here and interested persons can check out Indian Postal Service website for more details and can contact them.

Today, we celebrate with great affection and devotion the festival of Ganesh Chaturti. Lord Vinayaka is considered a very significant God who has to be worshipped before starting up any activity so that he ensures that the activity is completed without any hindrance of any kind from stopping the same.

We also would recall our previous Ganesh Chaturti post of 2006 over here. A few Ganesh slokas are here for readers convenience:

Slow and Steady Wins The Race

Slow and Steady Wins The Race

Everyone would have come across the interesting story of 'The Hare and Tortoise' where the hare was filled with pride and tortoise was very humble. Ultimately the humility which emerged as a champion enslaving the pride and prejudice. For those who are unaware of the story, here is a very quick narration of the same.
Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had very much heated arguments on had more talents and faster execution skills of tasks. They came to a conclusion and settle up the argument by choosing on a racing front. They even chose a route and triggered off the race. The hare just shot off and ran briskly for some time. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he'd sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race. He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race, emerging as the undisputed champ. The hare woke up and realized that he'd lost the race.
The moral- "Slow and steady wins the race. This is the version of the story that we've all grown up with."
Just because it is a moral story that we learnt during very tender days in school, we should not just forget this. This is a story which applies to anyone through out the life. One of my friend (Dorai A), who works as a bus conductor in Metropolitan Transport Corporation, used to tell that even in cycling we can get a live example of the moral above. One who cycles very fast is the person who does not know a balanced cycling. He is able to manage it just because of the virtue of his speed. One who is able to cycle and pedal at a snail's pace and without jerking the vehicle too much is actually the one who is a versatile cyclist. The same applies to other driving also. It particularly applies to two-wheelers and autorickshaw drivers who regularly flaunt traffic lights by squeezing themselves between heavy vehicles throwing themselves in trouble besides other passengers. It also applies in all aspects of one's regular life activities too.

The Teachers Day (September 5, 2007)

The Teachers Day

This year it was a cool Teachers Day on September 5, 2007. I would also at this moment like to recall about our earlier Teachers Day post here. With even my mobile entering a new telecom billing cycle on 5th of every month, the first few text messages that I sent was to my old teachers greeting them on the 'Teacher's Day'.

It is at this moment, I also need to congratulate Prathiba Venkatesan, who has taken her GMAT on September 5, 2007 and scored an excellently high score of 710. Let us join together to congratulate her for the high GMAT score and wish her more success in more avenues of life.
