The Weekend of Clearing Backlogs ...

The Weekend of Clearing Backlogs ...

This weekend had been scheduled in my Todolist towards clearing up a significant amount of backlogs. Even by 11.32 AM, I have almost cleared most of the activities that my Todolist was pointing at. This includes, a significant amount of bad notifications at http://deepak.blogdrive.com/, which were checked and cleared.

Besides this, I also had the following activities pending with me for long.

  1. An application letter to my Bank of India branch for a service request. It had been submitted.
  2. It had been there for a while since my bank account had discrepancies in the opening form. This got cleared off.

Ninth Prize Winner of Community-Credit January 2009

Ninth Prize Winner of Community-Credit January 2009

I am happy to share the information that I have again won the ninth prize in Community-Credit January 2009 contest. You can check out other Prize winners and prize details over here.

It is a sheer pleasure of helping peers in various technology forums and knowledge sharing and a recognition to cherish for ever. A quick update of the prize (from the prize page) is below:

Japanese Popping Edamame Keychain

FEVER! FEVER!

Edamame are baby soybeans, picked before they blossom into adulthood, and boiled. Edamame are also delicious and fun to pop out of their pods (especially when they shoot across a crowded restaurant and you have to explain to a room full of people how the 5 second rule still applies in public). But say you want the fun of popping edamame, but you're not very hungry. Oh, then have we got the keychain for you!

Each Japanese Popping Edamame Keychain has three beans. The end beans are small and immature. The middle bean, however, has one of 12 random faces printed on it. Why? We don't know, but there is nothing like the smile it puts on your face. And the beans are connected to some sort of elastic band, so they pop back in to be popped again as many times as you want. It sounds silly, but trust us, these things are highly addictive. They are also a great way to keep your fingers busy during boring meetings and your mood positive - because no one can frown when their edamame smiles.

"Laughter is the best tonic for Health" -- Now Satellite Television Channels from Tamil Nadu are patronizing humor

"Laughter is the best tonic for Health" -- Now Satellite Television Channels from Tamil Nadu are patronizing humor

It is a well-known fact that "Laughter is the best tonic for Health". It relieves us of the umpteen amount of mental stress and makes us feel and float lighter. Almost all satellite television channels from Tamil Nadu have been contributing to air comedy shows in the night so that one can watch those, feel lighter and free up oneself from the various types of stresses and then get-n-grasp a wholesome sleep for the whole night, without needing artificial tranquilizers.

Two of the tamil channels are now innovating on this spree to bring a 24 hour comedy channel. They are Sun Network and Kalaignar Television. The Sun Network has brought in a channel called Aditya, which is already on air from 8th February 2009. Just yesterday, when I fiddling with my television remote, I came across an advertisement in Kalaignar Television that they are planning to air a 24 hour comedy channel called Sirippoli from 22nd February 2009.

I just thought of sharing these with other readers so that you can get your televisions tuned to these comedy channels whenever you would feel like feeling lighter, laughing out and get your stress relieved.

A Sine Curve Crossing in Guindy

A Sine Curve Crossing in Guindy

One would of heard of Zebra Crossing, Pedestrian Crossing etc. What is this Sine-Curve crossing in Guindy? I just thought of this today whilst slowly negotiating the road-rail crossing from Guindy Race Course to Guindy Industrial Estate. If you are commuting from Velachery and beyond to Ashok Nagar, CMBT, there are two viable options for you:

  1. Alight somewhere between Velachery Vijayanagar to Velachery Checkpost and get D70 to reach your destination.
  2. Option Two:
    1. Alight at Guindy Racecourse.
    2. Negotiate the rail overbridge to reach GST Road.
    3. Take the subway to cross the GST road to enter Guindy Industrial Estate
If one carefully scrutinizes option two, it would be looking like a sine curve whilst walking from Guindy Race Course towards Guindy Industrial Estate. First, you climb up the stairs to reach GST road and then you take the subway (underground) to cross GST road to enter Guindy Industrial Estate.

But there is one another small confusion, I keep nurturing over crossing from Guindy Race Course to Guindy Industrial Estate. It is almost similar to the crossing from Chennai MCC (Tambaram East) to Tambaram West. But for some reason, the latter seems to be a little difficult and time-consuming when compared to the former. However, if you take a stopwatch and calculate-compare the time, it almost takes just around two and a half minutes on a leisure stroll from either of the sides. Might be there are other parameters like peak crowd, our instinct regarding reaching the destination faster which needs to be taken into account as well.

Away Away from Sinners and Back to Normalcy in the Service of the Lord

Away Away from Sinners and Back to Normalcy in the Service of the Lord

There had been a little turbulence rocking on my minds because of a few sinister set of people for sometime after my 'back-to-India' trip. I am sure I have discussed them periodically over the following post here. But, my bad, inspite of the renaissance, some of the mundane creatures had a little eclipse on my mind. My horoscope too showed signs of debilitation of Kethu and hence I believe, similar to the eclipses where Rahu and Kethu attempt to devour the Sun/Moon (solar and lunar eclipses), there was a little turbulence on my mind. With the support of well-wishers and the blessing of my Lord, now a clear route empowered by the ray of hope has been reinstated.

Sometimes the politics at workplace gets influenzed by crazy caste and religion factors and infect us as an influenza paralysing the productivity ratios. The need of the hour then would be channelizing and prioritising the tasks without getting taken over by them in their seige. Again, my Todolist was working doubly hard to ensure that these things didn't jeopardize the normal tranquility.

When I was in Dallas, my onshore manager who dropped me home in the evening always used to switch on his car stereo chanting a quick Gayatri Mantram and Aditya Hridayam. He used to say me once that Aditya Hridayam is really very helpful in giving the powerful blessings for the most protected mind. It once happened during this trip that a political wave of depression epicentered in India transitioned into a tornado sometime to cast an ill-effect in Irving around October first week of 2008. Again with his support, none of my schedules and deliverables were affected.

With all the empowerment, my Todolist claims free of all road blocks whatsoever, as on February 5th 2009. I am not an atheist to pronounce against the Navagraha. I really believe that debilitation of planets in the horoscope happen as a reminder that we should streamline our activities and ensure that our lifestyle sticks on to proper ethics towards the service of the Lord. At this moment, I also thank the Navagrahas for helping me out during the turbulent turmoil process.

I would just like to quote the following stanzas of Aditya Hridayam which indicates that a sign of Aditya to Rama to continue and embark on His mission with more confidence and vigor.

Atha ravi ravadanam nirikshyam raama Muditamanaah paramam prahrishhyamaanah.
Nishicharapatisa nkshayam viditvaa Suragan amadhyagato vachastvareti!

My Valentine Day Celebrations

My Valentine Day Celebrations

It had been a novel way of celebrating Valentine's Day (February 14) for me since from 2007 onwards. A quick recap of my Valentine's day celebrations are hereunder:

  1. February 14, 2007: On way to Dallas where I developed love with Dallas Fort Worth temple.
  2. February 14, 2008: It was part of my regular Thursday Triplicane Sri Parthasarathy Temple Visits. The week preceding this (February 7, 2008) was a 'Winning Thursday'.
  3. February 14, 2009: (on plans). Currently, I am in Sabarimala Vratham and I would be visiting the Sabarimala Sri Ayyappa Shrine on February 13th and February 14th and intending to return back to Chennai on February 17th.

Again, I thank my Lord for giving me the opportunity to have only the love and affection towards Him rather than being carried over/seduced and mesmerized by mundane worldly bestial ghastly attractions and pleasures.
