The Heat Wave is Eating the Planet -- How to Eat the Heat?

The Heat Wave is Eating the Planet -- How to Eat the Heat?

We just discussed about a few health safety tips that we need for follow whilst going for thirst-quenching drinks particularly from the region of Chennai. At the same time, we should see if something could be done to quench the heat itself that pinches the environment like anything.
Some of the topics that we have discussed on this and which need particular attention for us to learn and digest are the following.

We need to support the "My Town My Pride I keep it clean and green" moves of our local administration a bit more aggressively. We need to ensure that there is enough support and patronage for movement like 'Gramotsavam'.
These are little steps. "That's one small step for a man, a giant leap for mankind". Let us contribute our little might and efforts towards saving our planet from the clutches of heat.

Too much of creamy icecreams would make you to scream

Too much of creamy icecreams would make you to screamI admit that it rather very hot summer now in Chennai and slowly coming out that way across the globe. Thanks to the Global Warming and reckless industrialisation moves throughout, the turbulence on the economic setup is kind of huge and mammoth now. This is not a luddite attitude though but the concern is to have a little concern for environment whilst attempting to setup so many industries and going by the modernization spree.Under these conditions, when you normally visit any place outside, it would normally be our tendency to go for ice creams and other bottled drinks to escape from the pricking waves of heat. I just thought of sharing this public service message that we should take enough care in ensuring the quality of cool drinks and ice creams that we get from the vendors. Managing a tight stressful day ...Today (April 7, 2009) there was an interesting reader's opinion survey in Go-Ergo. The topic was the following:"You are shuttling between meetings and a line of assignments to meet, with no time even for a break. How would you control your hunger pangs?"In fact, I also sent my views like the following:"A quick meditation amidst shuttling to keep off stress and two cups of butter milk or sweet lassi work great wonders". You can find the column screenshot listed below:
You can also locate the same in Go-Ergo ePaper (April 7, 2009) below hosted in Scribd:

VoxPop Poll on Go-Ergo (April 1, 2009) :: Should Varun Gandhi be allowed to stand for the elections?"

Today (April 1, 2009), there was an interesting reader's opinion poll in VoxPop section of Go-Ergo.

The topic was the following:
"Should Varun Gandhi be allowed to stand for the elections?"
In fact, I also sent my views like the following:
"I don't think it is ethical to ban him from contesting the elections. Even the current legal proceedings are not in any way ethically driven but just a result of political vendetta and the sheer immaturity of the UPA. But do check the following URL http://groups.yahoo.com/group/USBrahmins/message/8138, which provides a comprehensive and in depth scrutiny of the message and meaning of the Varun speech.
