ICE Numbers in your Mobile Phone

ICE Numbers in your Mobile Phone

A mobile number has lost its fancy status now in the world. Yep. It has got promoted as a mandatory tool for an effective communication asset for anybody for that matter. You are never unreachable with a good network subscription in place.

I chanced to came across a hoarding advertisement in T. Nagar, which says 'Have you recorded ICE Phone numbers in your mobile phonebook?'. There has been much less advertisement, for that matter, for this very important fact.

I think the government and/or the networks should take the proactive step in getting up with the following:

  1. Get a minimum of 4 numbers from each subscriber.
  2. Prefix them as ICE- and can encode them as Service Numbers itself.
  3. The subscriber should be denied permission of modifying these and any requests should be routed through the network.
  4. Of course, this means restricting the individual subscribers from free phone book usage of thier phone. But anyway it is for thier safety. Since we feel lazy to add ICE numbers, if network places an emphasis, and in case of emergency, somebody can help them out.

Would the networks think over it?

Gnapakam Varuthe! Gnapakam Varuthe!!

Gnapakam Varuthe! Gnapakam Varuthe!!

Yesterday as a routine schedule, I went to Triplicane sometime about evening. This time, in order to use ATM, I went to Guindy and then took 45B. A few fond recollections whilst the journey during 45B ->

  1. It was en route Alwarpet where my previous company, Chrysoft.NET was located.
  2. It was here that we learnt a lot of deployment and client interaction tricks.
  3. We had really a handful of best friends in the world right here @Alsa Regency, Eldams Road.
  4. The Hanuman Temple, which is favorite to Arindam, Kolkata and used to be his boarding point.
  5. Also the junction where we have to take turn to enter my other previous organization, Synaptris Decisions head office Cybernet Software.

Head On Collision this morning

Head On Collision this morning

Have you seen bull fight? Just joking. Today morning, I was bit late and I had a call to attend to. So I was hurrying past near Medawalkam. One motorbike was speeding (I know it was overspeeding for him and to court death). And for me, in my hurry which blinded my vision, just darted across the road.

I escaped by clinging to a slowing down bus, the motorcycle overturned. There was a bit of confusion around. Bit of dirt got splintered on my dress too and hence flashed an Text message to my friend that I am caught in a road collision and returned back home in an autorickshaw. I dropped back in at my work sometime about 10:45.

[Imported from Blogdrive]My Nokia underwent renaissance

As usual just like fiddling my IIS, I was playing around with my new Nokia 3315. Whilst it was good to learn about a lot of features in store compared to the classic Motorola, I was having, there was a hidden landmine in store, which I hit.

The phone security code (with the default value 12345) got blocked. Of course, I have'nt opted for PhoneCode check on every switch on.

After 76 hours of melodrama with diversified ways to reset the Nokia 3315 code, the phone code has been reset, thanks to Nokia Care ("Hello World"). Of course, now the brief usage of the phone too has been restored to as if the mobile was just out of the factory.

The GSM journey along with my Nokia is resumed now after a brief hiccup.
