Kanda Shasthi Festival in 2006
Kanda Shasthi festival is observed to worship Lord Muruga (the God of Tamil) during the Aippasi month that roughly falls between October 15 and November 15. Again following with the Deepavali traditions, this festival commomorates the victory of Lord Muruga over the various demons. The festival is celebrated in much grandeor in all the six battle temples of Lord Murugu (Arupadai Veedu) and typically at Thiruchendoor and Thirupparankundram, where the SooraSamharam took place.
