A Sine Curve Crossing in Guindy

A Sine Curve Crossing in Guindy

One would of heard of Zebra Crossing, Pedestrian Crossing etc. What is this Sine-Curve crossing in Guindy? I just thought of this today whilst slowly negotiating the road-rail crossing from Guindy Race Course to Guindy Industrial Estate. If you are commuting from Velachery and beyond to Ashok Nagar, CMBT, there are two viable options for you:

  1. Alight somewhere between Velachery Vijayanagar to Velachery Checkpost and get D70 to reach your destination.
  2. Option Two:
    1. Alight at Guindy Racecourse.
    2. Negotiate the rail overbridge to reach GST Road.
    3. Take the subway to cross the GST road to enter Guindy Industrial Estate
If one carefully scrutinizes option two, it would be looking like a sine curve whilst walking from Guindy Race Course towards Guindy Industrial Estate. First, you climb up the stairs to reach GST road and then you take the subway (underground) to cross GST road to enter Guindy Industrial Estate.

But there is one another small confusion, I keep nurturing over crossing from Guindy Race Course to Guindy Industrial Estate. It is almost similar to the crossing from Chennai MCC (Tambaram East) to Tambaram West. But for some reason, the latter seems to be a little difficult and time-consuming when compared to the former. However, if you take a stopwatch and calculate-compare the time, it almost takes just around two and a half minutes on a leisure stroll from either of the sides. Might be there are other parameters like peak crowd, our instinct regarding reaching the destination faster which needs to be taken into account as well.
