Isn't the new 80 Series of Telephone numbering in India rather complex and confusing?


Of late to encourage healthy participation of more telephone operators in India and to proliferate competition, TRAI has introduced more numbering schemes. Significant among them are the 80 Series. When a number flashes from that network, there is a confusion whether it is a local Docomo number (if in Chennai) or a long distance Bangalore number.



I just thought of sharing this observation with other readers so that they would also be informed of the new numbering series currenty being introduced in India.
