When you visit Google homepage today as you type in the progress bar, the cursor-caret progress is indicated in the Google logo. See a video of the same attached below for your quick reference.
*Regional Google pages do not display this. Hence if you are being redirected to a regional page you may need to use the NCR trick to visit the primary Google page instead.
