Two days at India's Largest Blog Unconference at Chennai

Two days at India's Largest Blog Unconference at Chennai

It was indeed a great time and a spectacular weekend at India's Largest Blog Unconference, that was organized at Tidel Park, Chennai during 9th and 10th.  I have also shared some initial photographs through a live blogging here. Please note that embedded videos hosted at YouTube need a fast broadband connection.

Day 1

I reached TidelPark around 10 AM after little hallabaloo because of the stupid Velacherry route. I think Velacherry can be rightly crowned as the abode of educated illiterates for the type of road and civic sense they showcase.  Coming back to our discussion. After reaching Tidel and after a brief of security procedures and formalities, we resumed discussions in Track 1. Track II was more or less like discussions on wordpress hacks, blogspot beta etc. Track 1 was concenterating to community activities in blog, colloborative blogging, corporate blogging initiatives etc.

The evening had been scheduled for some beach house activity and hence myself and a couple of my blogger friends decided to have a sneak peak before we can start off. It was at Shyamala Gardens, opposite Mermaid Swimming Pool about a kilometre drive from VGP Golden Beach resort.  Interestingly, this beach house activity comes exactly one week after my team had a beach house activity at Buena Vista.

After we started at about 9 PM, we reached Thiruvanmiyur travelling for half an hour. There was a bus waiting to Camp Road (T 51) but the usual bureocratic red tape procedures were at work and some goons seemed to have damaged the bus. There was a mechanic lacking at the place and the bus was deferred its journey by one hour. Hence I chose to take the route of Tiruvanmiyur - Saidapet - Tambaram - Camp Road. Of course, it was a detour but an interesting night freak out during the weekend, to reach home at 0035 Sunday.

Day 2

Day 2 was again one more great days. The chief guest of the day was none other than Sunil Gavaskar.  The sessions on Corporate blogging ventures and how weblogs are really an inspiring moments for the enthusiasm and development of employee morale and profile was very interesting. There were some live Skype video sessions with bloggers across the globe.  I too got the autograph of Sunil Gavaskar. :) And there were a couple of snaps we took. I would try to have them posted after sometime.

Towards evening, we had some interesting quizzes on weblogs. We started back at about 1730. With a couple of friends from Mumbai and Bangalore, we were having some small dinner at Thiruvanmiyur. After that I got a bus -- the same T51 (with which there was an interesting date on Day 1) to reach Rajakilpakkam at about 2130.

All along it had been a great time through out the weekend -- inspiring, rejuvenating and refreshing with bloggers across the globe, thanks to the broadband sponsor, Sify. The Platinum sponsor, Yahoo, can not be forgotten too for tons of goodies like Yahoo bag, T Shirts.  All bloggers have sincere thanks to the other sponsors like MeriNews, Ford India and Nokia.
